Any time in the spring semester of their junior year, a student who wishes to embark on a senior year honors project must ask an English faculty member with expertise in their chosen subject to be their project director. The student will present an informal thesis statement and a plan for their work to their potential project director. Students should have a confirmed director for their project before the end of the spring semester of their junior year.
Students may choose to begin developing their project over the summer break before work begins in earnest in the fall semester of their senior year.
By the beginning of the fall semester of their senior year, students are expected to find two readers for their project (in addition to their project director) from among the English faculty or faculty outside the department.
